"She leaned out, taking in the musky, dense air from the outside. It was pregnant with fragrances from spices, roasted meat, cooked Jiaozi, acid tinctures, human waste and jet fuel. The unorchestrated cacophony the city and its millions of inhabitants unraveled before her was an assault on every sense. And she fell in love with it."
